Garden Tip: Wash Hands Before Planting, Picking Or Pruning Tomatoes

Gardener’s love to play in the dirt, and we always remember to wash our hands after we’ve been in the garden, but tomatoes need you to wash your hands before you touch them.
Tomatoes are highly susceptible to disease, if you have been touching other garden plants they may have disease, it’s easily transmitted to the tomatoes vine, tomato blossoms or even the little green tomatoes.
Wash your hands before you touch any part of the tomato vine, especially if you are a smoker, and never smoke while in the tomato patch. Tomatoes are especially susceptible to diseases carried through tobacco smoke.
