Start Garden Seeds In Ziploc Sandwich Bags
You don’t have to have any fancy store bought seed starting containers to get a head start on garden plants, use Ziploc sandwich bags.
Soak your garden seeds in water overnight then drain the water off of the seeds. Fill Ziploc sandwich bags half full of potting soil and plant your seeds in the soil. Water the soil, zip the bags up and place in a sunny location, like a window sill.
The Ziploc bags act like a mini greenhouse and speeds up the sprouting and growth of the seeds.
Every couple of weeks, unzip the sandwich bag and water your sprouting garden plants. As the garden plants begin to grow, leave the Ziploc bag open to accommodate their growth.
When it’s time to plant them in the garden, you will have a nice strong seedling with a root ball attached for quick start up in the garden.

Awesome idea . . . thanks
Neat idea - too bad I don’t have any accessible window sills (all have California shutters).
