Gardening To Save Money
Some people think they don’t have time or space for a garden, but when you think about the money you save with even the smallest of gardens, you might think again.
A small 4 foot x 8 foot patch of ground can grow at least 5 of your favorite vegetables. Minimal space, minimal time required, huge amount of money saved.
Example: In a 4′ x 8′ you could grow 2 tomato plants, 2 cucumber plants, a row of onions, a row of radishes, a row of pepper plants and still have room to tuck in some flowers around the corners, like marigolds or nasturtiums for beauty and pest control!
Think of the money you save by having fresh salad fixings right on hand, all summer long, for an investment of .25 cents per packet of seeds.
A small garden plot like this could be worked with a shovel and mattock, no need for a garden tiller, and that would provide the additional bonus of exercise with gardening.
Start gardening small, a small plot, or even plant a container garden, with your 5 favorite veggies, and track how much money you save.
